Kathleen Johnston RN, IBCLC

Lactation

Kathleen has worked as a registered nurse in maternal-child health since 1998. She began her career on a mother-baby unit before transitioning to a Level II NICU, where she discovered her passion for helping mothers provide breast milk for their babies through breastfeeding, pumping, or a combination of both. Inspired to expand her knowledge and support even more families, she became an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) in 2011.

She enjoys educating families about the benefits of breast milk and values the special relationships she develops with parents and babies throughout their feeding journeys. Her goal is to provide each family with knowledgeable, encouraging, and personalized support.

Outside of work, Kathleen enjoys giving new life to furniture and thrifted treasures. She currently sells her creations at two boutiques in the Northland. She is married and has two sons, Riley and Reed, who both grew up as patients of Pediatric Care North. She feels blessed to now be part of the PCN team and hopes to remain here until retirement—someday!
